No One Survived Server Setup Guide

This guide covers everything you need to set up and configure your No One Survived dedicated server. No One Survived is a survival crafting game featuring zombie threats, base building, vehicles, farming, and NPC encounters in a post-apocalyptic open world.

Before You Start: Make sure you have access to your server via GPanel. If you need help locating your server IP and port, see How to Find Your Server IP and Port.

First Start in GPanel

After purchasing your No One Survived server, follow these steps to get it running:

  1. Log in to GPanel and select your No One Survived server from the server list.
  2. Navigate to the Startup tab to review and configure your startup variables.
  3. Click Start on the main console page. The server will download the dedicated server files via SteamCMD automatically.
  4. Wait for the installation and first-time world generation to complete. This may take several minutes depending on the map size and server resources.
  5. Once the console shows the server is ready and listening for connections, players can join.
First Start: The initial world generation can take longer than subsequent startups. Do not interrupt the process or the world data may become corrupted.

Startup Variables

GPanel provides startup variables under the Startup tab that control the server launch parameters:

Variable Description Default
SERVER_NAME Display name shown in the server browser Test
SERVER_SAVE_NAME Name of the save file to load MySave
SERVER_NEED_PASSWORD Whether the server requires a password (True or False) False
SERVER_PASSWORD Server join password (only works if SERVER_NEED_PASSWORD is True) (empty)
SERVER_PLAYERS Maximum concurrent players (1-100) 50
SERVER_NUM_ZOMBIES Number of zombies per corpse tide wave (25-100) 50
SERVER_REGION Server region: All, AF, AS, EU, NA, OC, or SA All
SERVER_ADMIN_PASSWORD Password for in-game admin access (empty)
STEAM_NETWORKING Enable or disable Steam networking (True or False). Leave as False. False

Server Configuration

No One Survived uses two configuration files located in the WRSH/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ directory. You can edit these through GPanel's File Manager or via SFTP.

Game.ini — Server Identity and Gameplay

The primary gameplay configuration is in WRSH/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini under the [ServerSetting] section:

[ServerSetting]
SaveName=MySave
ServerName=Test
NeedPassword=False
Password=
MaxPlayers=50
NumOfZombieSpawn=50
Region=All
AdminPassword=
Setting Description Default
ServerName The name displayed in the server browser Test
SaveName Name of the save file to load MySave
NeedPassword Whether the server requires a password (True or False) False
Password Server join password. Only applies when NeedPassword is True. (empty)
MaxPlayers Maximum number of concurrent players (1-100) 50
NumOfZombieSpawn Number of zombies per corpse tide wave (25-100) 50
Region Server region: All, AF, AS, EU, NA, OC, or SA All
AdminPassword Password used to gain admin privileges in-game (empty)

Engine.ini — Network Settings

Network configuration is in WRSH/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Engine.ini. Port and Steam networking settings are managed here but are typically set automatically by GPanel.

Note: Most of these settings are managed automatically through the GPanel startup variables. Values set via startup variables will override what is in Game.ini. If a setting is not behaving as expected, check the Startup tab first.

How to Connect

Via the Server Browser

  1. Launch No One Survived and select Multiplayer from the main menu.
  2. Click Server Browser or Find Servers.
  3. Use the search bar or filters to find your server by name.
  4. Click on your server and press Join. Enter the password if required.

Via Direct IP

  1. From the multiplayer menu, look for a Direct Connect or Connect by IP option.
  2. Enter your server's IP address and game port (found in GPanel).
  3. Click Connect.
Finding Your IP: Your server IP and port can be found on the main page of your server in GPanel. Ports are randomly assigned unless you have a private IP. For more details, see How to Find Your Server IP and Port.

Save Management and Backups

No One Survived server saves store the entire world state including player bases, inventories, vehicles, and world progression.

Save File Location

World save data is stored in the server's save directory. You can access these files through GPanel's File Manager or via SFTP.

Creating Backups

  1. Stop the server before creating a backup to avoid corrupted files.
  2. Navigate to the save directory in GPanel's File Manager.
  3. Select the save files and use the Archive option to create a zip backup.
  4. Download the archive to your local machine for safekeeping.
Important: Always stop the server before copying save files. Copying while the server is running can result in corrupted or incomplete save data.

Restoring a Backup

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Upload your backup archive via GPanel's File Manager or SFTP.
  3. Extract the backup files into the save directory, overwriting the existing files.
  4. Start the server. It will load the restored save data.

World Reset / Wipe

If you want to start fresh with a new world:

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Navigate to the save directory in GPanel's File Manager.
  3. Delete or rename the existing world save folder.
  4. Start the server. A new world will be generated with the current settings.
Warning: World resets are permanent. All player progress, bases, inventories, and vehicles will be lost. Create a backup before wiping if you might want to restore the old world later.
