Los Angeles Crimes Server Setup Guide

Los Angeles Crimes (LAC) is an open-world multiplayer sandbox game set in LA, offering a variety of immersive worlds created by a global community. This guide covers setting up your LAC public server on Legion Hosting and connecting players.

Before You Begin: Make sure you have access to your GPanel account. If you need help locating your server details, see How to Find Your Server IP and Port.

First Start in GPanel

  1. Log in to GPanel and select your Los Angeles Crimes server.
  2. Navigate to the Console tab. The server will download the LAC Linux server binary from the official download site.
  3. Wait for the download and extraction to complete.
  4. Once the server starts, look for Done! in the console output.
  5. If the server does not start automatically, click Start.
Version Note: The server version is set during provisioning. If you need a different version, contact support as the VER variable is not user-editable. The current default version is 1.6.2.

Startup Variables

Navigate to the Startup tab in GPanel to view these settings:

Variable Description Default Editable
VER Server version (numeric format like 1.6.2) 1.6.2 No (admin only)

The server executable is LAC_Linux_v{VER}.x86_64, and GPanel assigns the port automatically.

Ports: Your server port is displayed on the main page of your server in GPanel. Ports are randomly assigned unless you have a private IP. For details, see How to Find Your Server IP and Port.

Server Configuration

LAC server configuration is minimal on the server side. Most game settings are determined by the game version and client. Check the server's root directory for any configuration files that may be generated after first startup:

  • Look in the LAC_Linux_v{VER}_Data/ directory for configuration files.
  • Use the File Manager in GPanel or SFTP to browse and edit files.

How to Connect

  1. Download and install Los Angeles Crimes from the official source or your platform's store.
  2. Launch the game and navigate to the multiplayer/server browser.
  3. Look for your server in the public server list, or use the direct connect option with your server's IP and port from GPanel.

Updating the Server

To update to a new LAC version:

  1. Contact Legion Hosting support to update the VER variable to the new version number.
  2. Use the Reinstall option in GPanel (under Settings) to download the new version.
  3. The old version files will be replaced with the new version.
Back Up First: Before reinstalling, back up any custom configuration or data files. A reinstall will replace existing server files.
