This guide covers admin tools and server management for your Voyagers of Nera dedicated server on Legion Hosting. For initial setup and configuration, see our Voyagers of Nera Server Setup Guide.
Server Management via GPanel
Voyagers of Nera's dedicated server is managed primarily through GPanel startup variables and configuration files. The server does not have an extensive in-game admin console.
| Action | How To |
|---|---|
| Start/Stop/Restart Server | Use the power controls on GPanel's main page |
| Change Server Name | Edit SERVER_NAME in Startup tab |
| Set Server Password | Edit SERVER_PASSWORD in Startup tab |
| Change Player Limit | Edit MAX_PLAYERS in Startup tab (max 10) |
| Adjust Autosave Frequency | Edit AUTOSAVE_TIMER_SECONDS in Startup tab |
| View Console Logs | Check the Console tab or read BoatGame/Saved/Logs/BoatGame.log |
Password Protection
To make your server private:
- Go to the Startup tab in GPanel
- Set a value for
SERVER_PASSWORD - Restart the server
To remove the password, clear the SERVER_PASSWORD field and restart.
Autosave Configuration
The server automatically saves at a regular interval controlled by AUTOSAVE_TIMER_SECONDS:
- Default: 300 seconds (5 minutes)
- Range: 10 to 900 seconds
- Recommendation: Keep the default unless you have a specific reason to change it
Configuration File
For advanced settings, edit the configuration file directly:
BoatGame/Saved/PersistedData/CustomConfig/CustomHostServerUserSettings.ini
Edit via GPanel's File Manager or SFTP. Always stop the server before editing and restart after.
Backup and Restore
- Use GPanel's built-in backup feature to create snapshots
- Download save files via SFTP for local backups
- Save data is located at:
BoatGame/Saved/PersistedData/SaveData/ - Always back up before game updates or major configuration changes
World Reset
- Stop the server in GPanel
- Navigate to
BoatGame/Saved/PersistedData/SaveData/ - Delete the save files
- Start the server — a new world will be generated
